  • To get ServSafe certified you must complete an accredited Certified Food Production Manager Class and pass the ServSafe Manager exam. We provide both services in our classes. Join a class today to get ServSafe certified.

  • In many states, including North and South Carolina, a Food Protection Manager Certification is required by local health departments for anyone in a supervisory or Person in Charge position. ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification is recognized in all 50 states.

  • Yep! We do the class, then test afterwards.

  • Yes. While the Servsafe Food Handler program is an option, the ServSafe Manager is the only course of the two that you need an instructor/proctor for. That’s the one we teach!

  • When you take the test with us, online, the certificate is available as soon as all participants have completed and passed the exam. Servsafe no longer prints and sends certificates. We also offer certificate printing on-site for a small additional fee.

  • A passing score is 70% or higher. This is obtained by answering at least 56 out of 80 questions correctly. The exam has 90 questions; however there are 10 pilot questions that are for research purposes only.

  • The ServSafe Manager Certification verifies that a manager or person-in-charge has sufficient food safety knowledge to protect the public from foodborne illness. Individuals that successfully pass the 90-question, multiple-choice exam will receive a ServSafe Manager Certification and wallet card. The ServSafe Manager Certification is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) under the Conference for Food Protection Standards.

    The ServSafe Food Handler Certificate verifies basic food safety knowledge and is for individuals in food handler employee-level positions. Upon successful completion of the ANSI ASTM 2659 accredited Food Handler course and 40-question exam, the employee will receive a Certificate of Achievement from the National Restaurant Association that can be printed from a secure section of the website.

  • The ServSafe certification is recognized in most jurisdictions where a Food Protection Manager Certification is required. However, some states have additional requirements. Check regulatory requirements or contact your local health department to get clarification.

  • You’ll have unlimited access to print and download your certificate until it expires.

  • The ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification Examination (ServSafe Manager Exam) is available in:

    Online: English, Spanish and Chinese.

    Print: English, Spanish/English, Korean/English, Chinese/English, French Canadian/English, Japanese/English, and Large Print.

  • You can retest only if you did not pass the examination, or if your current certification is expiring. You will need to purchase a new exam each time you need to retest. You can take the examination twice within 30 days. If you don’t pass the exam on your second attempt, you must wait 60 days from your most recent attempt before taking the exam again.

    No more than four attempts are allowed within a 12 month period. You will need to purchase an new Exam Answer Sheet to retake a print exam or purchase a new Exam Access Code to re-take an online exam.

    Retests must be proctored by a Registered ServSafe Proctor. Contact the individual or organization that proctored your first exam and tell them you want to retest.

  • All examinees with a current certificate will be able to download or print an eCertificate. To obtain their certificates, or request one to be sent, students should log on to ServSafe.com and select Download My Certificates. They’ll see an option to download their certificates, or request one to be mailed via USPS to them directly for a $10 fee.

  • The National Restaurant Association recognizes the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification for a five-year period. The ServSafe Alcohol, ServSafe Allergens and ServSafe Food Handler Certificates are recognized for a three-year period. However, state or employer requirements can vary. For more detailed information, check the regulatory requirements or contact your local health department.
